On the afternoon of November 29, 2024, Innopodium® Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd.’s Shanghai Laboratory welcomed over 20 faculty and students from the School of Chemical Engineering at East China University of Science and Technology.This visit and exchange not only offered a blend of knowledge and practice but also served as a meaningful step in deepening university-industry collaboration.
The event began with a speech by Mr. Wu Yiwei, Executive Vice President of Sufarm Biochemical® and Director of Innopodium®. He warmly welcomed all the guests and introduced Innopodium®’s strategic vision in the field of new pesticide development. Wu emphasized that as a major agricultural nation, China’s pesticide industry must shift from “manufacturing” to “creating.” As a joint venture between Limin Holdings and Sufarm Biochemical®, Innopodium® integrates the resources and organizational capabilities of both parent companies to build a systematic and collaborative innovation platform. He expressed hopes for deeper future partnerships to accelerate local innovation while managing risks and achieving mutual success.

Following the opening remarks, Mr. Zhang Qing, Vice Chairman of Limin Holdings, and Mr. Yun Dong, Vice President of Sufarm Biochemical® Innovation Center and Head of R&D at Innopodium®, unveiled the Shanghai Laboratory Base. The base aims to build an efficient and competitive bioassay system and platform that integrates all functions of a bioassay center—including new compound screening, product biological development, and technical positioning—guided by international standards to enhance R&D capabilities and pesticide safety innovation.

After the unveiling, Mr. Chen Liang, Director of Biological R&D at Innopodium®, led guests on a tour of the base. Built with reference to successful domestic and international standards, it features advanced facilities such as greenhouses, laboratories, and insect-rearing rooms, supported by a skilled technical team. The base is expected to handle 500–600 experimental projects annually. The tour not only showcased the facilities and ongoing research but also highlighted Innopodium®’s vision to deepen strategic partnerships and build a shared experimental platform.

After the tour, Mr. Yun Dong returned to the stage to introduce the Innopodium® platform and its R&D team in detail. He emphasized that the platform is committed to providing comprehensive 360° services for partners—covering market expansion, new technology development strategies, joint promotion of new active ingredients, formulation development and upgrading, professional bioassays, compound registration and implementation, and joint development of new compounds. The platform brings together top international industry experts and scientists with extensive experience and expertise, driving innovation and breakthroughs in pesticide development. Yun reiterated Innopodium®’s commitment to openness and collaboration with domestic and international partners to advance pesticide technology innovation.

The highlight of the event was the networking salon. Guests from leading multinational companies, partners, and industry experts gathered to discuss trends in new pesticide development and future collaborations.
