On October 30, the opening ceremony of Innopodium®’s Shanghai Laboratory Base was successfully held in a warm and anticipatory atmosphere. This milestone marks a solid step forward for Innopodium® in the field of new pesticide creation and signals deeper exploration and cross-platform collaboration in future pesticide innovation.

The event began with a warm welcome from Mr. Chen Liang, Director of Biological R&D at Innopodium®, who introduced the visiting faculty and students to the company’s history, scale, culture, and innovation strategy. Since its founding, Innopodium® Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. has been dedicated to providing comprehensive solutions and services for the agricultural sector, supporting sustainable agricultural development. In the field of crop pest and disease control, the company applies advanced biotechnology and eco-friendly concepts to develop efficient and safe solutions that promote healthy crop growth. With a professional technical team, Innopodium® can quickly and accurately identify pest and disease issues and deliver tailored solutions, providing reliable support for its clients.

Next, the faculty and students toured the laboratory base to gain an overview of its facilities. The base was built with reference to successful domestic and international standards and is well-equipped with greenhouses, laboratories, insect-rearing rooms, and advanced technologies. With a strong technical team, it currently handles an estimated 500–600 experimental projects annually. Students were also introduced to the various facilities and ongoing research projects.

During the final exchange session, Mr. Xu Mingzheng, Head of the Innopodium® Laboratory Base; Dr. Shao Shunjie, Chemical Synthesis Manager and alumnus of the School of Chemical Engineering at ECUST; Ms. Xie Yaqiong, Field Development Manager; and Mr. Cai Hongqiang, Bioassay Specialist, engaged in in-depth discussions with the students. They shared insights on topics such as innovation in the agrochemical industry, applications of chemical synthesis, personal career experiences, and job-hunting strategies. Several students expressed that the visit to the Innopodium® Laboratory Base and the interaction with company staff left a strong impression on them and provided valuable inspiration and learning.

Through this meaningful exchange and interaction, we witnessed the students’ passion for the future and the immense potential of combining academic education with industry practice. We will continue to fulfill our social responsibility by working hand in hand with universities to cultivate more outstanding talents with practical skills and innovative spirit, contributing to the prosperous development of agricultural science and technology.
